Ke Sera Sera is the name of the soul of Sol Bar. The cafe was taken over mainly to give a chance to young adults with Special Needs to socialize..and learn new skills!
A Coffee Club is held here every week where anyone who wouldn't get the opportunity to practice coffee making or gain other hospitality skills because of their different needs, is welcome to learn, experiment, try, make mistake and have fun with customers and make new friends!
Art and music workshops are often running for them and if you have an idea, want to support the project, or want to utilize the space for the purpose of the Ke Sera Sera, get in touch with us and we'll bring it up together!
Meet the owners, Paul, the sailing footloose kiwi and his wife Zuny, bombastic Argentinian source of energy and enthusiasm! Before settling on Waiheke they've been sailing all around the world with their catamaran Pzazz. Getting inspired by flavours of many different cultures the couple decided in 2020 it was time to bring together all they've loved about the many years of global culinary experience and run a restaurant in the beautiful Waiheke Island. Ask Zuny, who is usually in the kitchen teaching to everyone how to properly fold an empanada, to name 3 of the countries she loves the food most and she will name any place touched by the Mediterranean sea (specially Croatia, Italy and Greece!) Not only the food, but the hospitality, the warmth and the authenticity of the people there make the whole experience rewarding, fun, authentic and convivial.. this is all reflected at Sol Bar and Cafe. The menu is designed to bring to New Zealand the memories of their travels, with an eye for Paul and all the Kiwis that can't fall out of love with their classic burgers, steaks and fish and chips! Nachos, quiches, gnocchi, patatas bravas are very likely to be the weekly main specials and Latino music in the background makes the place kind of...sexy:) Ask to meet them if you come around and listen to their stories and world sailing adventures!
